KAREN ELLINGSEN JANOUT, M.D. 

Dr. Janout is a native of Spokane, graduating from Lewis and Clark High School in 1992.  She attended Washington State University and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1996.  She then attended Creighton University School of Medicine, Omaha, NE, and received her medical degree in 2001.  

After a Residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Cincinnati, Dr. Janout completed Fellowship training in Neuro-Ophthalmology at the same University.  Prior to coming to Spokane, she was on the staff of Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton, California.

Dr. Janout is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Washington State Medical Society and the Spokane County Medical Society. 

She joined the staff of Spokane Eye Clinic in September 2007.  Dr. Janout specializes in neuro-ophthalmology.  In addition, her interests include general ophthalmology and small incision cataract surgery with presbyopia correcting intraocular lens.
