The Spokane Eye Clinic has announced that Nicole Brandt, M.D. joined its team of physicians. Dr. Brandt specializes in diagnosis and treatment of corneal and external eye diseases, corneal transplantation, small incision cataract surgery, advanced technology intraocular lenses and laser vision correction.
Dr. Brandt joins the Spokane Eye Clinic's panel of 18 eye specialists, each of whom is board certified. Each earned the highest qualifications measured by education, training and experience.
"We are pleased to add someone of Dr. Brandt's caliber to our team of physicians," said Dr. Jerry LeClaire, president of the board of directors for the Spokane Eye Clinic. "Her specialty in corneal disease is a much-needed compliment to specialties currently on staff and prepares our practice to serve the growing needs of patients in the Inland Northwest."
Dr. Brandt graduated from the University of California Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology, and earned her Medical Degree from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, where she received honors and was elected as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She completed her Ophthalmology Residency at the University of California San Diego and served as Chief Resident during her final year. Dr. Brandt continued her education at UCSD where she completed her fellowship training in Cornea, External Disease and Refractive Surgery.
Dr. Brandt has published research in the field of ophthalmology and has presented at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology annual meetings. She is also a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
