The Spokane Eye Clinic has announced that Eric S. Guglielmo, M.D. joined its team of physicians. Dr. Guglielmo specializes in the management and treatment of diabetic eye disease, retinal detachment, macular degeneration, macular membranes macular hole and the management of uveitis, swelling and irritation of the uvea, the middle layer of the eye.
Dr. Guglielmo joins the Spokane Eye Clinic’s panel of 19 physicians. Each has earned the highest qualifications measured by education, training and experience.
“Demand for eye care specialists continues to grow. We are excited to have someone of Dr. Guglielmo’s caliber join our team of specialists to meet this growing need,” said Dr. Jerry LeClaire, president of the board of directors for the Spokane Eye Clinic.
Dr. Guglielmo received a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Georgia. He taught school in rural Alaska for four years before deciding to go to medical school. After completing his pre-med courses at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, Dr. Guglielmo attended the University Of Nevada School Of Medicine, graduating with Honors in 2005. While there he received numerous awards including election to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
Dr. Guglielmo completed his Residency in Ophthalmology at the Dean McGee Eye Institute at the University of Oklahoma, and his fellowship in vitreo-retinal diseases and surgery at West Virginia University.
Dr. Guglielmo is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Christian Ophthalmology Society.
