SEC Welcomes Dr. Colburn

The Spokane Eye Clinic has announced that Jeffrey D. Colburn, M.D. joined its team of physicians. Dr. Colburn is a Pediatric Ophthalmologist who specializes in lazy eye, eye muscle problems, infant tear duct surgery, childhood glaucoma, childhood droopy eyelids, and small incision cataract surgery in infants and children.

Dr. Colburn joins the Spokane Eye Clinic's panel of 18 eye specialists, each of whom is board certified. Each earned the highest qualifications measured by education, training and experience.

"We are excited for Dr. Colburn to join our team of specialists," said Dr. Jerry LeClaire, president of the board of directors for the Spokane Eye Clinic. "He will be a great asset to our team as we expand to serve the growing needs of patients in the Inland Northwest."

Dr. Colburn graduated Summa Cum Laude from Walla Walla University in 2001. He went on to earn his Medical Degree in 2005 from Loma Linda University where he received the Chancellor's Award for academic achievement and was elected into membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society.
After medical school, he completed his ophthalmology residency at the Vanderbilt Eye Institute in Nashville, TN. This was followed by a year of additional fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology at the University of Indiana. He completed the program in June, 2010.

Dr. Colburn is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Medical Association. He has presented research at the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus national meeting.
