Stephen C. Maher, M.D.

Dr. Maher is especially concerned with the special ophthalmological needs of children. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Notre Dame and received his medical degree at George Washington University School of Medicine in washington, D.C. in 1976.

He then completed a Residency at the Kresge Eye Institute of Wayne State University and interned at Miriam Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island. Just prior to joining the Spokane Eye Clinic team in 1981, he worked on a one-year Fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology at the Indiana University Medical Center. Dr. Maher brings a high level of dedication and experience to the Spokane Eye Clinic Staff.

He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Washington State Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus and the International Strabismological Association. He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
