LASIK / PRK Vision Correction
LASIK / PRK surgery is performed by our fellowship-trained surgeons, Dr. Erik D. Skoog, and Dr. Nicole K. Brandt, to correct Myopia and Astigmatism. The decision to have LASIK / PRK surgery is an important one that ultimately, only you and your surgeon can make. Patients should have realistic expectations and that your decision is based on facts, not hopes or misconceptions. The goal with LASIK / PRK surgery is to reduce your dependence on corrective lenses. Our Corneal Specialists offer complimentary consultations to review your lens prescription, the health of your eye, and discuss risks, complications, and benefits.
PRK over traditional LASIK
Traditional LASIK, which creates a flap with a microkeratome, is still used throughout the country. However, Spokane Eye Clinic offers PRK because we firmly believe it is a better option.
PRK is an excellent options to improve vision and reduce dependence on corrective lenses. It can work exceptionally well for those individuals who might not be a good candidate for LASIK, have a weakened cornea, or have dry eye issues. The procedure takes only minutes to perform although the healing and recovery time is slower than with LASIK, and the final results are comparable.
