Alex J. Hansen, MD
Dr. Hansen joined Spokane Eye Clinic in September 2024. He is a cornea specialist with expertise in corneal transplants, cataract surgery, complex anterior segment surgery, and the management of corneal and external disease.
Dr. Hansen hails from Nebraska. He graduated from the University of Nebraska with highest distinction and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2015. He then attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where he was drawn to ophthalmology while working as an Eye Bank Technician procuring donor corneas for sight restoration for the Lions Eye Bank of Nebraska. Dr. Hansen earned his medical degree in 2019.
After completing his Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Arizona, where he served as Chief Resident, he completed a Clinical Fellowship in Cornea and External Ocular Disease at the University of Illinois-Chicago’s Eye and Ear Infirmary in July 2024, .
Dr. Hansen is Board-Certified through the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Cornea Society, and the Washington Association of Eye Physicians and Surgeons.
Dr. Hansen enjoys rock climbing, cycling, and running. He is eager to join the Spokane community and enjoy all the area offers.
