Current Openings

Spokane Eye Clinic (SEC) is looking to add a full-time, certified orthoptist from an accredited program to join our growing pediatric ophthalmology & adult strabismus team. SEC is a multi-subspecialty eye practice with 17 ophthalmologists and soon to be 11 optometrists serving the Spokane, Washington area in 4 practice locations. Our pediatric team currently has 2 pediatric ophthalmologists and 1 orthoptist. We have a comprehensive pediatric ophthalmology service and we are the primary adult strabismus service for the Inland Northwest region.

This new orthoptist will work under the direction of our pediatric ophthalmologists in both their clinics as well as in their own regular orthoptic clinic. They will assist the doctors in working up pediatric patients as well as detecting and treating ocular motor disorders in adult strabismus and double vision patients. They will also assist our research department with pediatric research studies.

Spokane Eye Clinic can train the right candidate as an Ophthalmic Clinical Research Assistant.  The full-time position will assist in the assigned tasks of the research program to include knowing, understanding, and following detailed research policies and procedures; strict compliance with all relevant local/state/federal regulatory and institutional policies; guidance and coordination of clinical and diagnostic technicians in their performance of activities related to clinic research; adverse experience reporting; and maintenance of study files. 

This position will essentially “back up” the other 3 members of the department so each knows the current status of all studies and what the next steps are for the projects.  This position will also assist the Clinical Research Coordinator to manage data and paperwork, meet deadlines, contact/schedule study subjects, and perform specific protocol procedures.  If there is any downtime, this position may provide support and patient care to diagnostics and the clinic.  JCAHPO COA certification to be obtained within 12-18 months.  Must be detail oriented, organized, and a strong communicator.  A flexible schedule is necessary as sometimes there is early morning or late afternoon work to be accomplished requiring different start times on different days.  Must be able to obtain certification for individual studies.  Excellent wage and benefits that include medical, dental, life, LTD, profit sharing, 401(k), vacation, sick, holiday, etc.

This full time position is responsible for providing an exceptional customer service experience when answering incoming telephone calls and either scheduling an appointment, routing the call, or taking a message for physicians, management or staff.  The accurate scheduling of appointments is completed in accordance with protocols and insurance guidelines.  This position ensures the patient experience is positive and all information provided by and given to the patient during the call is accurate.  

Must work well within a team environment and type 40+ words per minute. Candidates with an understanding of medical/vision insurance and benefit information are preferred. This position requires the ability to work any shift between 7am-5pm. The Patient Transport/Medical Assistant-Registered works 10 hours per day (plus 30 minute lunch) 4 days per week. Shift will be from 5:30am - 4:00pm, Monday through Thursday. Hours and days are always subject to change depending upon business needs.  Responsibilities include opening the surgery center (turning on lights and equipment), patient transport (pre-op to the operating room to post-op), room turnover, restocking supplies, and cleaning (mopping, wiping down furniture/areas).

Experience in direct patient care preferred but not required.  MA-R through the state is applied for upon hire.  This is a physical job and applicants must be able to lift and/or move a minimum of 15 pounds. Spokane Optical Company, part of Spokane Eye Clinic, is seeking a team member with optical experience. We are looking for a person that is friendly, motivated, and able to float between our 3 Spokane locations throughout the week. This person must have strong computer skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced, busy environment. They also will need to cross-train in other ancillary office roles as needed (may include lab, reception, inventory management, etc.)  Duties include: assisting patients with eyewear selection and sales, verification and explanation of insurance benefits, order processing, assisting with inventory management, dispensing of the completed product, assisting patients with adjustments and trouble-shooting dispensing issues. Other duties would include answering the phone, cleaning and organization of the office.

Clinical Technician needed at Spokane Eye Clinic.  An ophthalmic clinical technician is responsible for patient work-ups, visual acuities, pupils, refractions, medical history, chief complaint, scribing, etc.  Hiring bonus provided for previous ophthalmic/eye care experience, but we can train the right person with excellent customer service, attendance/punctuality and strong computer skills (including 40+ wpm).  Must be detail oriented and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.  Will obtain for MA-R (Medical Assistant – Registered) certificate upon hire.  We have multiple locations in Spokane (open 7am to 5pm) so reliable transportation is required as the position is rotational among them.  Work schedule is Monday through Friday and start/end times vary along with length of work day (can be more or less than 8 hours per day).  Most techs work approximately 38-40 hours per week.  Excellent compensation and benefits to include medical, dental, life insurance, long term disability, optical benefits, vacation, sick, holiday pay, uniform allowance, and 401k/profit sharing plan. For more information about our organization visit www.SpokaneEye.com.
